7 Day Heart of the Ocean Humpback Whale Retreat in the Kingdom of Tonga
Swim With Giants – A Transformational Humpback Whale Retreat in Tonga
Into the Wild: A Sacred Week Among Humpback Whales
Together, we travel to the mystical island of ‘Eua, where the warm, turquoise waters of Tonga welcome the majestic humpback whales on their annual migration.
For one extraordinary week, you will share the ocean with these gentle giants, listen to the ancient songs ripple through the sea, and feel the hum of their presence in your very bones. Here, you’ll reconnect with nature in its purest form — and awaken the untamed spirit that has always lived within you.
A Journey Not Only Across The Ocean
But Into The Depths Of Your Soul
5 Days of Life Changing Whale Encounters
We spend 5 unforgettable days, each with approximately 7 hours out on the pristine ocean — watching whales breach and play, witnessing tender moments between mothers and their curious calves, listening deeply to their soulful songs, and sharing the water as we swim alongside these majestic creatures.
Each encounter invites you to open your heart, to connect deeply with the intelligence and grace of these gentle giants, and to experience a profound sense of unity and awe that lingers long after you leave the water.
Daily Practices to Deepen Your Experience
Through daily yoga, pranayama, and meditation, you’ll nourish both body and soul. These practices will help you integrate the magic you witness out in the ocean, giving you space to absorb all that you felt and experienced. They allow you to understand and embody the seeds of wisdom the whales plant deep within your heart.
Whale Wisdom & Divine Guidance
Whales are ancient keepers of sacred wisdom, their songs echoing the earth’s deepest mysteries. Their voices carry the echoes of creation itself, vibrating with healing, transformation, and profound spiritual knowledge.
They invite you to awaken your soul, embody compassion, and connect deeply to the flow of life — helping to awaken the ancient knowledge that has always been inside you, just waiting to emerge.

Sacred Encounters with the Whales
This is a profound, heart-centred immersion into the wild and the sacred. Over five days, you’ll connect with these gentle giants in their natural habitat, swimming alongside them with respect and awe, guided by local experts who honour both the ocean and Tongan culture. Complementing these transformative ocean encounters, you’ll engage in practices to nurture your body, mind, and spirit — yoga, meditation journeys, and energetic activations designed to help you integrate all that you feel and experience while in the water.
My intention is to hold a safe, supportive container for your human self, so as you receive the wisdom of the whales, you can intuitively be guided to what their song means for your personal journey on Earth. The whales are ancient guides and protectors; when approached with an open heart, their truth mirrors our own, helping us reconnect with the deepest parts of ourselves. They have the power to awaken our dreams, encouraging us to reconnect with our deepest desires, reclaim our purpose, and trust in the unfolding of our unique path.
The Whales’ Blessings: Awakenings & Transformations
You will return home with more than memories. You’ll carry the stillness of the deep, the magic of shared eye contact with a whale, and the joy of moving in rhythm with the tides. You’ll leave with a renewed sense of presence, clarity, and connection, as well as friendships forged in saltwater and sunlight. This retreat offers an opportunity to fall in love with the ocean — and with yourself — all over again. It is a chance for rebirth, a moment where life can take on a new purpose and meaning, and where your dreams are given space to awaken and flourish.
Why Tonga?
Each year from July to October, humpback whales travel thousands of kilometers from Antarctica to Tonga’s sheltered lagoons to breed and nurse their calves. Tonga is one of the only places in the world where ethical, in-water encounters with these whales are legal and regulated — ensuring both safety and respect for the whales. Here, the water is warm, crystal clear, and teeming with life. Encounters often happen just meters away, allowing you to see their immense beauty, hear their haunting songs, and feel the hum of their presence through the water.
But beyond its natural wonder, Tonga is a place of deep spiritual significance. The whales are seen by many as ancient teachers and messengers — guardians of the ocean’s wisdom and carriers of healing vibrations. Their songs echo timeless stories of connection, transformation, and unity, inviting us to remember our own place within the web of life.
To be here is to enter a sacred sanctuary where the boundaries between human and nature dissolve. The gentle giants call us to open our hearts, to listen beyond words, and to awaken to a profound sense of belonging — not just to this island, but to the entire living Earth.

Our Recommendation
To ensure a smooth, stress-free start and end to your retreat, we strongly recommend:
Arriving in Tonga 24–48 hours before your retreat begins
Departing Tonga 24–48 hours after your retreat ends
This extra time allows for any unexpected flight delays and gives you the chance to adjust to “island time” before we set off to ‘Eua.
Accommodation in Tongatapu
Accommodation on Tongatapu (before and after your stay on ‘Eua) is not included in your retreat package. You will need to arrange your own lodging for these nights.
We’re happy to recommend trusted options and can coordinate so that our group stays in the same hotel — making it easier for transfers, meals, and getting to know each other before the adventure begins.
